armadillojam - Creative Director
My role in armadillojam is very hands-on. From the initial client liaison through the creative process to the production of top quality print and web design. This covers initial research and ideas, to conceptual designs, to the production of final finished product whether this be a website of a piece of printed work.
Additionally this role encompasses the design and marketing for armadillojam in the form of the website and any direct marketing or advertising produced.
November 2000 - December 2005
lightershade - Web (and print) Designer
My role at lightershade was to produce top-level websites for a wide ranging selection of clients from corporates, to charities, to festivals, to restaurants. It also involved me in producing advertising and print material for lightershade and it's sister companies edNET (now re branded as Lumison) and nPlusOne (the telecomms division)
During my time with lightershade I produced website solutions for Edinburgh's Christmas, Hammerhead TV, Jacksons Restaurant and Cheltenham Festivals amongst others and print solutions for lightershade and nPlusOne themselves in the form of the corporate ID and various advertisements and for external clients Beatson Institute of Cancer research and Insight Pharma.
August 1999 - November 2000
Richmond Park Design - Graphic Designer
My role at Richmond Park design involved conceptual solutions in the form of sketches, design and concept development and final artworking. In liaising directly with in-house print team meant that I gained an in depth understanding of the print process and art working for print.
During this time I produced corporate identities, stationery, annual reports, corporate literature, flyers and leaflets, packaging designs and illustration work.
July 1999 - August 1999
Freelance Graphic Designer
On completion of my degree I worked for a short time as a freelancer, mainly doing work for Hamilton Design, before starting with lightershade.
June 1992 - October 1998
Student Employment
Whilst in full time education I worked as a waitress in Inverness, as a counter assistant in the Inverness Tourist Office, as a sales assistant, a floor operative in an amusement arcade, a post woman and also did a little German translation for the Highland Regional Council.
